Play for All

Inclusion is a process of creating opportunities and support systems which enable children and young people with a disability to be part of their community as an equal.

Play For All is a project which aims to create inclusive recreational opportunities all year round for children and young people with a disability who are under 18 years of age and live in the Down District or Belfast City Council areas and who would like to participate in a local mainstream activity such as sport, drama, walking, art, music, etc.

Down District Council is a partner in and funder of the Play For All project along with Barnardo’s, Down Lisburn Trust and Belfast City Council.  Additional funding for the project has been provided by the Eastern Health and Social Services Board and the Eastern Child Care Partnership.

The project involves staff from across the Council’s different services, ie Leisure, Arts, Museum, Marketing, Human Resources/Training & Development and Community Relations & Development.
